Katie holds an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology from San Juan College in 2017 and has been an LVT since 2018 though she has been working in the field since 2015. Additionally, she holds an Associate’s Degree in General Studies and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Mclennan Community College and Francis Marion University respectively. Before joining Endeavour, Katie worked for 7 years at South Carolina Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Care, spending most of that time with Dr. Goldman learning about the wonderful world of Internal medicine. In 2022, Katie began work as a Relief Technician for Charleston Veterinary Staffing Solutions, helping several General Practice, Specialty and Emergency Hospitals. While at these hospitals, Katie gained additional skills in surgery, anesthesia, oncology, cardiology, emergency, neurology and wellness pet care and vaccines.
At Endeavour, Katie is responsible for learning and maintaining the software for our electronic medical system, ensuring the program runs smoothly, working quickly to identify problems within the system and enabling solutions where necessary. Katie also works closely with outside vendors to ensure any services needed outside of the scope of the practice are done in a timely manner. In addition, Katie is also responsible for client and pet comfort, client education, and managing the day-to-day operations to ensure appointments are seen in a timely fashion. Katie also utilizes her skill set to include physical exams, venipuncture, assisting with procedures, monitoring pets closely under sedation or anesthesia, client and patient discharges and demonstrations as needed, as well as ensuring patients’ comfort for the duration of their stay at Endeavour.
Katie believes in a compassionate and collaborative approach to veterinary care. Katie loves working together with pets and their families to find the best approach to both short- and long-term care for their pets. Katie strives to empower owners to advocate for their pets and be an active participant in their plan for care and treatment.
Outside of work, Katie enjoys outdoor cooking, lounging by the pool in the summertime, or curling up with a good book during a thunderstorm. Katie also enjoys spending time with her husband and four dogs. Katie loves Hounds, particularly Basset Hounds.
